KNYSNA MUSEUM. From evidence of early human behaviour to the origins of South Africa’s timber industry, and from the country first modern-era gold rush to the establishment of its first unfenced national park (the Garden Route National Park)… the greater Knysna area has a rich and colourful history. 

The Old Gaol was retired from service in the 1980s, when a new prison was opened to the north of the town, and the property was transferred from the Department of Public Works to the Municipality of Knysna.

The Motorcycle Room is all about great memories about the bikes we had and rode growing up, the bikes we haven’t seen in years, and the bikes we miss. The collection includes old classics, vintage enduro bikes, motocross and superbikes, and a wide variety of customs too.
